What is studentforce ?

Built upon the force.com platform distributed by salesforce.com, studentforce is an on demand application serving students. By leveraging tools students currently use and are easily accessed now through any web browser or mobile device, and integrated with campus ERP and LMS systems, studentforce users manage their day to day interactions with classes, faculty, assignments, classmates, career opportunities; and, more significantly, the relationships between each.

TARGETED PORTALS HELP FRESHMEN MAKE THE TRANSITION TO COLLEGE LIFE

AS MUCH AS IT IS EAGERLY ANTICIPATED, freshman year is often a time of confusion, disorientation, and even alienation for many students.

According to ACT (maker of the ACT college entrance exam), one in four college freshmen will drop out before completing sophomore year. The reasons for this high level of withdrawal vary, but a report by UCLA's Higher Education Research Institute suggests that new students often feel overwhelmed and unprepared for the academic and social challenges of college life >>>>

Higher Ed IT - Doing More with Less: Keeping Costs Down Will Grow Ever More Difficult, Report Says Chronicle of Higher Education December 1, 2008

The 90-page report, "University Tuition, Consumer Choice and College Affordability: Strategies for Addressing a Higher Education Affordability Challenge," includes a set of strategies that public universities can adopt to keep tuition affordable. The report, sponsored by the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges (NASULGC) includes suggestions institutions can apply to keep tuition cost increases down and can be viewed by clicking here >>

Not surprisingly, among the strategies are suggestions that include modifying the delivery of courses by taking advantage of technology delivered on demand. Applying the value Cloud Computing delivers to Higher Ed can have a significant impact on the affordability of higher education going forward.
